I am originally from Illinois and moved to Akron for graduate school. I always enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing as a kid. Recently I have gotten into skiing and other outdoor activities. I am really looking to get more into backpacking.

My name is Jim, which was taken as nickname before I joined so I use Imre a Hungarian version of the name. I am married to Cathie (Katka on this site) and have two daughters, one son and two grand daughters.
Look forward to making new friends and sharing some miles with my current ones.
For carpooling I live in Concord near Mentor (Lake County) with ready access to IS 90.

Just starting to hike and wanting to learn about more places. Just hiked the 8.2 mile hike at McConnell's mill. Hiked one way and could not make it back to our car. The trail beat me up but I had fun and want to do more. Got better supplies and ready to go. Any help, info, advice we would love. Thank you

Originally from Northern Michigan. Backpacked around the state (LOL not literally), Isle Royale, out west. Sail more then backpack now, though alot of the principles are the same. Camp alot as well. Looking to do some winter backpacking this coming winter and just looking for some good destinations nearby.

Have been out of the scene for awhile started again last year with a couple small 3 day trips. Im not into ultralight (i like to eat) just moved to this address couple months ago. I'm also an avid mountain biker.

I enjoy camping and hiking, although I am new to this kind of excursion. My idea of hiking is a brisk to slow walk through the woods with my dog and a tent complete with air mattress. I am excited to learn from others in the club on how to "really" hike. My husband and I are looking for adventure. :)

I'm a single father of two, an avid backpacker, and a firm (if not over-zealous) believer in hammock camping. I hike around in Wayne Natl Forest if its a weekender, but every year I hit the Smokies backcountry for 9 days. I earned my nickname by leaving A LOT of gear halfway up Clingman's Dome while a tropical depression sat over the park all day.
