Meet and Hike

| What: | Club Meeting & Day Hike | | When: | Saturday, 4 December 2004 | | 2:00 Meeting | | 3:00 Hike | | Where: | Boston Run Trail, CVNRA, Peninsula OH. The trail head is off of 303 across from the Happy Days Visitor Center close to the Rte 8 and 303 intersection. There is a large parking lot, picnic area, and a port-a-potty on site.
Trail Information: A beautiful trail with several streams and although the elevation change is only 80 ft, it changes frequently and has a moderate rating. The loop is 3.4 miles and rates 2 hrs, but I have done it several times in approx. 1.25 hrs.
If anyone wants more of a challenge....there is a tunnel at one end of the parking lot which will connect you to the Haskell Run and Ledges Trail where you can add anywhere from .5 to 3 hrs to your day hike!!! You can challenge yourself with the ledges and visit the ice box cave...but don't get caught in the dark...it's a terrifying hike back without a flashlight....just trust me on this one! Although I'm sure all of you avid "backpackers" would not be caught without the proper equipment ;)
And what would the Holidays be without a little cheer? How about a little stop at Tequila Poncho's in Hudson, just a mile or so away? (330 342-9401) after the excursion of course.
We will meet in the parking lot. It is open and we can meet toward the back...furthest from the road. There were picnic benches there although I don't remember seeing them last time but I also wasn't looking for them.
