Meeting
What:Club Meeting: Hike by Headlamp / Moonlight
When:Saturday, February 11, 2006
7:00 PM (yes PM)
Where: The Plateau Trail (or Oak Hill Trail), Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
We will meet at the Oak Hill Trailhead
Who:Everyone and bring a friend.
Description:

This is a lovely area in which to hike! Scenery includes many ponds, brush, deciduous, coniferous and mixed forests as well. The majority of the trail follows a ravine and one off-shoot of the Plateau Trail actually takes you o an astonishingly beautiful section of the ravine filled with hemlocks (my personal favourite).

We will be taking the Plateau trail....4.9 miles, very little elevation change and breathtakingly beautiful! (the attached map says this trail is of moderate to difficult rating, but i can assure you it is nothing but delightful the entire way). The Oak Hill Trail is a tiny, 1.5 mile loop inside the Plateau Trail rated easy.

We are going to do this trail in the dark, hopefully we will have clear skies so we can see the full moon but in NEOH that is not guaranteed. Bring your head lamp just in case. Bring a change of shoes if its muddy, in case you want to join us for an A.M.B. (After Meeting Beer) at the Winking Lizard.

This is one of my favorite trails in the park, hope to see everyone there. Please call Aaron with any questions.
